Mike Tipping

My Dad was in the print trade and it lead me in the same direction. Having gone to work with my dad during the six weeks holidays, this helped me understand the trade from the early age of 14. I left school on the Friday and started a four year apprenticeship on the monday - I have been in the trade ever since and have watched it change drastically over the years

I set up Chameleon in 2006, having noticed a gap in the market. Most printers are only interested in ink on paper and when it comes to the complicated finishing or sourcing something special, they normally decline the job. This is where we made a our mark, doing the unusual and the complicated. I enjoy the challenging jobs, the jobs which are different and going that extra mile to achieve the impossible.

I Started working life in the Civil Service, during that time I was moved into the finance department the Royal Ordnance, Nottingham, where I gained most of my financial knowledge. Later after being made redundant I started working for my husband part-time where we invested in Sage. During the latter years I have used my Sage knowledge and worked in the accounts area for Engineering, Retail, Hotel and Printing.

I helped Mike set up Sage when he first started out, later when they moved offices back in 2011, I joined them in the April. I enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere at Chameleon.

Something about Jill you wouldn't know ...
That she has visited 21 different Countries around the world. It would have been 22 but a hurricane put a last minute stop to a visit to Mexico.

Nigel Yates

I ventured into the print trade just after I left school, over 40 years ago. My first position was as a trainee guillotine operator which I saw as an opportunity to gain experience and involvement within the industry. I worked my way up through various departments such as bindery and finishing, litho printing, studio (all aspects), production management and sales, gaining a tremendous amount of knowledge and 'hands on' experience along the way. Eventually I became a Key Account Director which led to joint ownership of my previous company.

I joined Chameleon in September 2008 and I really can't believe that that was over 5 years ago! The thing that I enjoy most about what I do is taking on a demanding challenge and making the 'almost impossible' happen. I get a great sense of satisfaction from achieving successful results for my clients and will always go the extra mile to ensure that they are 100% satisfied.

Something about Nigel you wouldn't know ...

I joined the print trade and Chameleon in January 2013 after leaving a job as a Marketing Assistant in the IT industry. Since joining Chameleon, I have extended my range of skills and my job roles now include, Designing artwork for Print, Packaging & Graphic Design, Designing & Developing websites, Managing all Marketing & Social Media, and managing all Promotional Clothing Contracts.

I’ve always wanted a job that I would enjoy getting up for, and at Chameleon I do. I enjoy the creative aspect of my job - dealing with clients face-to-face and sitting down with them to discuss their artwork ideas. Especially when the end result is exactly what they wanted!

KELLI BRIGGS

I have always wanted to be a Graphic Designer from an early age as I have always had a creative mind. I graduated with my HND and entered the print trade which taught me many new skills. Joining Chameleon has given me chance to really spread my wings within the design world and the knowledge I have learnt along the way in the print trade has really developed me as a designer.

I love my job and I feel lucky to be able to say that, art and design is a part of my life not just a career, it is something I am very passionate about. I get paid to do something I love and enjoy.
